Whether you’re planning a trip to ski, hike, attend a wedding or get together with a big group of friends or family, there are some incredible Breckenridge vacation rental options. This isn’t the kind of town where you stay in a hotel. In fact, there are hardly any options for traditional hotel companies.

Breckenridge is best experienced in a rental house or condo, and it’s a great place to gather with a large group because there are so many enormous houses here! We’ve previously stayed in and reviewed The Bogart House (5 bedrooms, 5.5 baths) and Mont Vista Chateau (8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms), and we recently were able to take a group of 10 travel writers to stay in Breck Town Lodge (9 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms).

The Nine Bedrooms and Bathrooms

One thing I love about this house is that every bedroom is a great size and there’s no need to fight over bathrooms. We had 10 women in our group, and we never had an issues with everyone getting ready all at the same time.

On the first floor, there are bedrooms that are basically each their own studio apartment. Each one has a small kitchenette and its own bathroom. I stayed in one of these and really appreciated the privacy so I could get up early and work before the rest of the group and not wake anyone up.

There are another three bedrooms on the second floor, which is also where you’ll find the spacious open living, dining and kitchen area. We all commented on how it would be the perfect house for a family reunion, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.

The remaining three bedrooms are upstairs, which has a hallway that overlooks the open living area. There’s also a second living area on the third floor.

Three of the bedrooms each have a queen plus a set of bunk beds, with the other bedrooms either each having a king or queen. In total, the house sleeps 28 people.

The Perfect Layout for Large Groups

There were 10 of in this house together for four days, but it never felt like it. Even when we were all together in the living room or dining room, there was more than enough space for everyone. In fact, we could have invited more people over!

If you need to feed a large group, there’s a spacious kitchen where several people can be prepping food at the same time. There are two eight-person dining tables plus five barstools, so you can easily seat 21 without even having to squeeze in an extra chair.

Space is definitely the theme of this house. I stayed in one of the bedrooms on the first floor, and it was like having my own apartment. I could escape down there at night and not even realize anyone else was in the house with me. All three bedrooms downstairs have this apartment-style setup, which is great for anyone in the group who gets up early or stays up late so they’re not waking up the rest of the house.

Amenities

What’s a mountain house without a hot tub? This place has a great one! It’s obviously a more premium model and has comfy seating along with built-in cupholders. Want to stay warm inside? In addition to the obvious—central heating—there’s also a wood-burning fireplace.

There’s also a mud room with ski racks, and the entry hall has cubbies and lots of places to hang things. Tons of storage and space for all your stuff here.

If you’re visiting in the summer, you might also appreciate that this house as A/C. Honestly, I’ve never turned on an A/C unit in Breckenridge, but if you’re someone who likes to keep the house cool, this might be a selling point for you. There aren’t many places in Breckenridge with central A/C.

Last, but certainly not least, this place has amazing views from the upstairs deck. Escape out here with our coffee in the morning and take in a deep breath of that cool mountain air.

The Ideal Location for Not Having a Car in Breckenridge

Breck Town Lodge is ideally located on French Street, a short walk from Main Street. In fact, our group of 10 didn’t use our cars the entire trip! Between walking and using free transportation options. There is a Breck Free Ride stop almost right outside the door.

However, if you do decide to bring a car, there’s room to park up to six cars here, in addition to on-street parking.

If you want a house for a large group that’s walking distance to Main Street and has easy access to free transportation, I highly recommend booking this one. Looking for something a little smaller? Check out The Bogart House, which has the same benefits.
